About

I'm a roboticist focused on getting legged robots to move reliably through messy, contact-rich environments that are notoriously hard to model and simulate.

I'm originally from Brooklyn, NYC, but now based in Pittsburgh. I'm a second-year PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Prof. Aaron Johnson in the Robomechanics Lab and supported by the GEM PhD University Fellowship. My research combines reinforcement learning and optimization-based control for autonomous legged locomotion — reasoning about compliant, unexpected contact and coordinating mixed fleets of robots.

Before my PhD, I earned an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at CMU, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from MIT.

Outside the lab, I play basketball, lift, springboard dive, snowboard, and train Muay Thai — and I also love to travel, shoot photography, and cook. A few moments from all of that are below.
