A belt-driven electric longboard, sponsored through MIT Projx and built at MITERS.
During my freshman year I was sponsored by MIT through Projx to build an electric longboard. I designed an adjustable motor mount to secure the motor to the longboard trucks, along with a 48-tooth HTD5 drive pulley sized to my wheels and printed in ABS for strength.
The mount components were manufactured from ½″ 6061 aluminum on a shop waterjet and mill. An ESC drove the motor while parallel LiPo packs powered the system; the board reached a recorded top speed of 28 mph. The build was completed at MITERS (MIT Electronics Research Society).
